Freddie Mercury 1946 - 1991
Born Farookh Bulsara in Zanzibar on 5th September, his family moved to India the following year and later Freddie attended boarding school near Bombay. They moved to England in 1964 and Freddie went to Isleworth school leaving with an 'A' level in Art. He joined his first serious band 'Ibex' in 1969 eventually going on to help form Queen in 1970. Standing just 5'9" tall he was, however, a giant on stage captivating audiences worldwide.
